Publish or Perish? On the Importance of Publishing on the Economic Sciences Tenure-track in the CR (in Czech)

This paper scrutinizes the publishing histories of associate and tenured professors of economic sciences in the Czech Republic. According to domestic regulation, only certain universities may grant associate and tenured professorships. Such universities require that professorial candidates publish original work in internationally credible academic journals. To investigate whether such publishing requirement is indeed fulfilled, the authors studied the publishing histories of those who were granted tenured or associate professorships from January 1999 to June 2005 using the Social Sciences Citation Index developed by the Institute of Scientific Information. They found that, of the professors tenured in the respective period, almost 54 percent had not published any journal article before their appointment. At the same time, some 85 percent had not published an article in a foreign academic journal. Similar results held for those who were made associate professors in that period. It appears, then, that Czech universities in fact do not regard publishing as a principal factor on the academic tenure-track in the economic sciences.academic economics, associate professors, tenured professors, Czech Republic, journal articles, publication performance

Práce obsahuje teoretická východiska pro zpracování konsolidované účetní závěrky, postupové kroky jednotlivých metod konsolidace a teoretická východiska pro zhodnocení přístupu. Teoretické poznatky jsou poté aplikovány při sestavení konsolidované účetní závěrky vybraného podniku.This diploma thesis deals with the consolidated financial statements. The thesis includes theoretical basis for the preparation of consolidated financial statements, the individual process steps consolidation methods and evaluation approach. Then theoretical knowledge is applied in preparing the consolidated financial statements of the chosen company.

Proposal of Employee Renumeration System in Company Mediaservis. Ltd.

Cílem bakalářské práce je zpracovat analýzu současného systému odměňování zaměstnanců. Provést dotazníkové šetření mezi zaměstnanci call centra a na jeho základě navrhnout adaptivní systém hodnocení zaměstnanců, především na operátorské pozici ve společnosti Mediaservis s. r. o. Tímto pak dosáhnout zdokonalení systému finančního ohodnocení operátorů tak, aby byli motivováni pracovat, měli zde možnost kariérního vývoje a byli vybízeni k vyšším výkonům.The goal of this BA thesis is to analyze the current ocmbination compensation in Mediaservis Ltd. Furthermore propose a new adaptive rewarding system for operators, based on enguiry among employees. Suggested approach should improve the actual combination compensation in order to highly motivate operators and encourage them to achieve their personal goals.

Analysis and Proposal for an Improvement of the Production Process

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o průchodu zakázky podnikem s hlavním zaměřením na výrobu dopravního značení ve firmě Araplast s.r.o. V první části se soustřeďuji na teorii, která je důležitá pro pochopení základních principů výroby. Druhá část je uchopena prakticky. Zde se zaměřuji na odhalení problémů při výrobním procesu na základě analýzy současného stavu. Na jejím základě jsem navrhla vlastní řešení pro zlepšení a zefektivnění výroby. S těmito návrhy jsem konfrontovala současnou situaci a zhodnotila jejich přínos.This thesis deals with the flow of orders in Araplast s.r.o, a road sign-manufacturing company. First part of the thesis is theoretical and explains the basic principles of production. Second part deals with practical aspects – detection of problems in the manufacturing process based on analysis of the current situation. On this basis, I propose my own solution to improve and streamline production. Finally, I confront the current situation with proposed solution and evaluate contribution of the solution.
